February 16: BIG Belly
Heidi's Belly at 39 weeksI can't believe how big my belly has gotten. I couldn't resist capturing this image. With only days to go, we're really excited! The doctor plans to induce next Wed. if I don't start labor naturally before that. We're hoping baby comes this weekend. Stay tuned!

January 27: 9 Months and Feeling It
Peyton & HeidiI am now at the beginning of 37 weeks, and I am feeling extremely pregnant. All is still going well, but I am always tired and uncomfortable these days. I do hope that baby comes on time (or even early). Peyton and I are ready to meet him!

January 17: Showered with Love & Gifts
Heidi opening giftMy RIF colleagues threw a really fun office baby shower on Friday, and then my friends and family threw one on Saturday. I was overwhelmed with all of the love and baby presents. How exciting! Check out some photos from Saturday's baby shower...

January 10: Nursery Work
Peyton working in nurseryPeyton has been working hard on the nursery. What used to be our computer/junk room is now transforming into a very cute little room for baby. Dad-to-be has painted the walls yellow, put in the crib, bookshelf, wardrobe, and rocker. Now, we just need to get some art on the walls. Check out some photos of the nursery...

December 26: Happy Holidays!
Heidi and Hula at XmasWe went down to the Taylor's South Carolina house for Christmas. We spent most of our time eating and walking on the beach. What a nice break. Notice my belly is really growing. I am now in my 8th month!

December 14: Kitty Test Drive
Cats in the strollerPeyton has been working really hard at getting the nursery and baby gear set up this week. The cats have decided that it's their job to test everything out. Foxy is fond of the crib, while Pickles thinks the stroller provides maximum comfort and a smooth ride.

November 30: Veggie Mama
Heidi cookingMy RIF colleague, Gina, wrote an article about being a veggie mom that ran in today's Washington Examiner. A few weeks ago a photographer came to our house to take a picture of me to run with the story. Sadly, I think the photo is fairly unflattering. I look like I am angry and have a double chin, but what can you do. Also, the paper wrote that I am 9 months pregnant, but of course I am only 7. At least Gina's article is great, and there are some good recipes there, too.
Check it out...

November 23: Animals all aboard
The cats and Hula seem to have discovered that I am pregnant. At night as I sleep on my side, Foxy cuddles up on my belly like a hen atop her nest of eggs. And if I am sitting on the couch, Hula likes to sit with her head on top of my belly. I assume they like the warmth, but hopefully they're also bonding with baby.

November 1: Just Kickin'
The baby is kicking and moving around a lot! Peyton says it feels like a sack of snakes. It's a really odd feeling, but it's cool that the little guy is finding something to do in there.

October 30: You Got a Baby In There?
Heidi at 25 weeks Apparently, at six months, I am now really showing -- even to strangers. I've been getting a lot of comments from people I don't know, and even some hands coming at my belly for a good rub. I am not sure why everyone is intersted in touching a pregnant lady's stomach, but with 4 more months to go, I suppose I'd better get used to it.

October 10: The Name Game
Now that we know we're having a boy, everyone wants to know if we have chosen a name. And (sorry) the answer is no. We're talking about a few names that we like, but we really don't have any that jump out as a great fit. Whatever we decide, we will attempt to keep this a secret until his birthday. You all need some surprises, right? Anyhow, if you have any name suggestions, we're all ears. Just send an e-mail with your ideas.

October 4: It's a BOY!
Baby at 20 weeksWe had our sonogram today, which confirmed my hunch that we're having a boy! It was incredible to see him wiggling around. The technition measured everything and took lots of photos, and most importantly he confirmed that the baby is healthy! Knowing the baby's gender really brings on a whole new level of reality. It's so amazing!
